Dollar General has a mission of serving others and we don't lose that mission just because a pandemic hits us. As a matter of fact, when a pandemic hits, we have to grow stronger. That's why we kept going because if we didn't, who would we were deemed essential workers to get the food out to the stores. And it was our job to get it to these stores safely and as efficiently as possible, it felt really good to help communities when no one else could. I had a lot of people come up to me and gave me props. I actually had a lady buy me lunch because I was delivering to a Dollar General store. It's a good feeling to know that we're taking care of the community all the time with food. People need the merchandise in the stores and we're very happy to help them out and make sure everything gets out there to them and their wants and needs are fulfilled for a lot of our customers. That's the only store that's close to them. And so they're dependent on us and the fact that we were able to continue to bring those out every, every single week or twice a week or three times a week. Um, kept them going. I went to towns where there was nothing but a dollar general within the 20 mile radius. And we had to go there at least twice a week. We were one of a few essential workers that were allowed to continue to work. And what I would say is that Chris took pride in that, that he was doing something that meant something. And I think that's when we talk about our family, that's exactly what we talk about. And that's what we mean. And our drivers feel that they live that Chris uh really embodies what we really want to see happen here at Dollar General within our fleet. And that's uh development from within and growth from within. I emphasize a lot on positivity. I always tell my trainees that always stay positive motivation, my own motivation, I'm a positive human being. His attitude is phenomenal. No matter what we have going on, he steps up and he's always there and asking what can I do more to help out? I love Dollar and I see the potential of growing with the company and just what it has for me down the road, you know, getting my city was definitely a jump in my career. I'm able to support my family financially. Commercial driver's license program has been phenomenal. It's an amazing growth opportunity for them from where they're at today. Giving them a career that they can really retire from. So for us, it's been fantastic because it helps us grow our fleet internally. And in my book, the internal drivers that we receive through our program are the best drivers we have. It means a lot of the dollar general invested in me. They had trust in me. I'm proud of what I do. This team has absolutely taken care of their employees. They look out for you. They try to better you, they teach you. I, I just, I couldn't be happier here. I feel like family honestly. Like they, these guys here, they treat me really good and I fit in like family. You're not just another driver number at a trucking company. That's not what we're about. We're a family and we're bringing you into our family. I couldn't be more proud of what we do today with our fleet here at Dollar General. My family is proud of the career that I'm building with Dollar General.

Hey, it's Liz. I am an outbound manager at the Scottsville Kentucky Distribution Center and I have been with Dollar General for going on 10 years. And today I wanna share with everyone what Dollar General's mission statement means to me. And here at Dollar General, our mission statement is serving others. And when I really think about what that means, I think about what we do every day. And here at the distribution centers, we're sending out merchandise to all of our stores and the state, neighboring states. And when I think about that merchandise that we're sending, I realize that it's, it's food, it's stationary, it's clothing, things that our customers need to get through their day to get through their week to get through their month. And when I dig a little bit deeper into that, I realized that that food could be something as simple as a can of spaghettios for a single mom who's trying to feed her kiddos before bed. It could be pens and pencils and paper that we're providing for students so that they become successful and can go to the next grade or graduate. And I realized that our customers, our our friends, our family, our grandmas, our grandpas, our moms, our dads. And it means so much when I really sit down and reflect on that because those are people we care and we love, care about and love and it's heartwarming knowing that what we're doing, we can take pride in because it means something to someone somewhere. We're making a difference for someone somewhere. And that is what serving others means to me.
